Example Letter

Dear Jane,

Thanks for your letter. I’m sorry I haven’t written in so long, but I’ve been really busy with my exams. Now they’re all over, and I’m having a short rest in London with my family.

London is wonderful! We’re staying in a hotel not far from the center, so we’re able to walk around London almost all day long. It’s amazing because London is a 24- hour city. We’ve already seen most of the famous sights. Yesterday, we visited the Tower of London and enjoyed the legends told by the famous Beefeaters.

Tomorrow, we’re going to Windsor. I’m really looking forward to visiting this old town because I love ancient castles. We’re also planning a trip to Stratford-upon- Avon. You know William Shakespeare is one of my favorite writers, and I’d love to see his hometown. I think it’ll be great!

I’m coming back to Poland on Sunday, so I’ll be able to call you next week. Please give my regards to your parents—how are they?

See you soon,
Elena
