Oh hi Mary, where are you going in such a hurry? Hi Tom, I’m just going to my ICT class. Are you taking that this year too? Yes, and I love it.

Me too, isn’t it great? At first I didn’t think I’d like it, but our teacher gave us a great assignment. Is it the one about planning a party? No, it’s all about using different kinds of sources to get different kinds of information about temperatures and rainfall.

Things like that. Oh, that sounds interesting. Yes, and the real cool thing is that lots of the sources have mistakes, and that’s why you have to look at more than one or two websites to get your information. Oh I see.

What were you saying before about planning a party? Well our teacher wants us to use a computer program to see how much it would cost to have a party. You mean the food and drinks? Yes, but not only that, we also have to find out about the cost of plates and glasses, things like that.

Do you have a certain amount that you’re allowed to spend? Of course. At first she said £25, but that wasn’t enough. That’s for sure.

Now it’s £50, and you know, we’re going to see who comes up with the best plan, and the teacher says we can use it to raise the money for a real party at Christmas time. Thank you.
