The ending of a letter depends on its beginning:

    • Dear Sir or Madam – you don't know the name → Yours faithfully
    • Dear Mr / Ms + surname → Yours sincerely; in emails also Kind regards
    • Friends and family: Hi or Dear + first name → Love, Lots of love, Best wishes, Take care

After Mr or Ms use the surname only: Dear Mr Clark, not Dear Mr Tom Clark. In American English Sincerely is common in both cases.
