Bingo Games

Bingo turns any word list into a whole-class listening game. You type the words, and the site deals them out on cards: every card has its own number and its own order of words. On the board, the caller screen shows or reads the words one by one; students mark them on their cards – on paper or on their phones – until someone has a full row, column or diagonal and shouts “Bingo!”. Check the winner by the card number in one click. Use pictures for young learners, clues for definitions and irregular verbs, or the sound-only mode for listening practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play bingo in an English class?

Every student gets a card with words on it. The caller – you or the Caller screen on the board – calls the words one by one in a random order, and students mark the words they hear on their cards. The first student with a full row, column or diagonal shouts “Bingo!”. Check the card, and keep playing for a second line or a full card.

Can students play bingo on their phones?

Yes. Open the Play online tab and show the QR code on the board. Every phone that scans it gets its own card with a number, and students tap the words they hear. The site does not mark the words for them – they have to listen. When someone has a line, the phone shows “Bingo!” and the card number.

How do I check a winning card?

Press Check a card on the Caller screen and type the number from the top of the student's card – printed or on a phone. The card appears with the called words circled and the full line in green, so you see at once whether the bingo is real or how many words are still missing.

Can I print the bingo cards?

Yes. The Print cards tab makes up to 40 different cards, 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5, with pictures, words or both – four cards on an A4 page, two for 5×5. You can also print calling cards to cut out and draw from a bag, and a checklist to tick the called words.
