Pumpkin Patches 🎃 Halloween Activities for ESL Learners

How a pumpkin patch page works
Each of the three pages shows a field with six pumpkins. Click one, do the task behind it, and the pumpkin rolls into the wheelbarrow, leaving a bare stalk where it grew. Six pumpkins in the barrow finish the page – twenty to forty-five minutes of work. The order is shuffled on every visit, and the red Reset button under the field empties the barrow for the next group.
The three levels
A2. A reading text on Halloween and the Day of the Dead, a Peppa Pig clip with words to type, four Halloween facts with one false claim, short recordings with a question each, a grammar round-up, and rhyming riddles.
A2–B1. A true-or-false story about an abandoned house, a video quiz where the options differ by tone, riddles that describe the answer, a task on the sounds of a Halloween night, conditionals, and nineteen trivia questions.
B1–B2. A costume-parade text where the answers turn on the writer’s attitude, a video quiz on informal words, Halloween facts with one wrong claim, a song-continuation task, question tags, and trivia.
The six slots are the same on all three pages, so one lesson plan works with three different groups and a mixed class can be split across the levels.
