What's the biggest difficulty you have when managing time?
I would have to say my social life. As I have a demanding work schedule, I tend to lose track of time and forget to add in time to spend with my friends and family. I am looking for a way to manage this better.
IELTS Speaking: Talking About Time Management
Time management is a practical topic often seen in Part 1 and 3. You might be asked about routines, priorities, or planning.
Useful Vocabulary
a tight schedule, a deadline, prioritise tasks
put things off, procrastinate, run out of time
make a to-do list, set aside time for, stick to a routine
Example Questions
Are you good at managing your time?
Do you usually plan your day in advance?
Do you think people are busier now than in the past?
Sample Speaking Part 2 Prompt
Describe a time when you had to finish something in a hurry. You should say:
what you had to do
why time was short
how you managed it
and explain what you would do differently now
Tips
Admitting that you sometimes put things off sounds more natural than claiming to be perfectly organised, and it gives you more to say.
