Positive

For things that happen again and again: habits, routines and facts.

  • I / you / we / they: Tigers eat meat.
  • he / she / it + -s: Jane likes carrots.
  • -es after o, sh, ch, ss, x: goes, finishes, watches
  • -ies after a consonant + y: fly → flies, study → studies

Negative

  • don't + verb: We don't drink lemonade.
  • doesn't + verb: My brother doesn't swim in the sea.

After doesn't the verb has no -s: she doesn't like, not doesn't likes.

Questions

  • Do I / you / we / they …? Do you make cakes?
  • Does he / she / it …? Does the cat eat fish?

Does she swim? – Yes, she does. / No, she doesn't.
