In response to your advertisement in The Times, I would like to apply for the position of tour guide. I am 21 years old and speak fluent French. My Spanish is quite good, and I also have some knowledge of Italian.
Currently, I am studying history at Oxford Brookes University. Last year, I spent some time in York researching a project on the development of the city, which has given me a strong understanding of its history.
I have excellent organizational skills. In my final year at school, I organized a trip to Canterbury for a group of thirty twelve-year-olds. I acted as their guide and was responsible for their welfare throughout the trip. I get along well with people and have often been told that I have a friendly, outgoing personality.
I would very much like the opportunity to work as a tour guide with your organization this summer. I am available from June to September and can attend an interview at your convenience.
