Winter Season. Essay

A model description of winter - weather, clothes, activities, holidays - laid out the way a school essay on the season is expected to run. Useful before students write their own.

A description of winter follows a predictable order, and that order is what students are really being taught: the weather first, then what the world looks like, then what people wear and do, and finally what you think of the season yourself.

The grammar comes with it. Weather takes it is and the present simple; activities take frequency adverbs; and the opinion at the end needs a reason attached. Read the model, take the plan, then write about the same season from a different angle – a student who loves winter and one who cannot stand it will produce two very different essays from one frame.
