Spring Speaking Game and Essay Ideas - English Practice

Spring prompts that do double duty: read them aloud and they are speaking questions, write them down and they are essay openings.

The gap between a speaking task and a writing task is usually just who is holding the pen. The prompts here are written to sit on both sides of it: put one on screen and a class answers it out loud, give the same one as homework and it opens a paragraph.

Everything is spring - the weather, the changes outside, what people start doing again - so the vocabulary repeats across prompts instead of scattering. Pause wherever the answers are coming, and skip the ones your group has already exhausted.
