Saint Patrick's Day Guessing Game - What is It?

Saint Patrick's Day objects appear piece by piece and learners guess before the picture resolves. The vocabulary of the holiday, practised as a game rather than as a list.

The format is the one that reliably gets a quiet class talking: an image that is not yet readable, a few seconds of guessing, then the reveal. What makes it work for language is the gap - learners commit to a word out loud before they know whether they are right, which is the opposite of what a vocabulary list asks them to do.

The items are the holiday's own: shamrocks, leprechauns, pots of gold, the green that covers everything on 17 March. Three minutes, no preparation, and it fits either at the start of a Saint Patrick's Day lesson or at the end as a check on what stuck.
