Black Friday Explained in Easy English | ESL Listening Practice (A2)

At A2 the explanation has to stay on the surface, and that is enough: the day after Thanksgiving, shops cut prices, people queue early, the Christmas shopping season begins. Short sentences, one idea each, with the numbers spoken slowly.

The listening task should match. Ask for three facts rather than a summary — the day of the week, what shops do, what people buy — and check them together. Comprehension at this level is about catching specific information in a stream of speech, not about understanding every word, and a task with three targets teaches exactly that.
