Back to School Personality Quiz

What do you do when you get your homework?

Back to School Personality Quiz

Start the new school year with a quiz that tells students what kind of learner they are. Ten questions cover homework, pop quizzes, group projects and break time, and there are no right or wrong answers – just three very different school personalities waiting at the end.

Because nothing is marked, the activity works well as an icebreaker in the first lesson back. Students answer honestly, compare results with a partner and explain why they chose what they chose, which quietly turns a quiz into speaking practice.

The vocabulary is everyday school language: homework, recess, presentation, flashcards, grades. It suits A2–B1 teenagers and adults. Run it on the board with the whole class voting for each answer, or let students take it individually on their own devices.

Follow-up idea: ask whether students agree with their result, then have them describe a classmate who fits one of the other two types.

Leave it if you want an answer.
