How to play

  • Set up the game. The host chooses the verbs (the 20 most common, all of them or one group, like sing – sang – sung), the tense (Past Simple, Present Perfect or both) and the board: from 5 × 5 for a quick game to 8 × 8 for a long battle.
  • Your fleet depends on the board – on 6 × 6 it is one ship with 3 squares, two with 2 squares and one with 1 square. Place the ships yourself – tap a ship, then a square, ↻ Turn to put it up or across – or press Shuffle. Ships never touch, not even at the corners.
  • Fire with a sentence. Choose a square on the enemy board and build its sentence from the words: the row gives the beginning (We didn't …), the column gives the verb and the end (see a shark).
  • A right sentence fires the shot. Hit – fire again! Miss – it's your opponent's turn. A wrong sentence – no shot.
  • Sink all the enemy ships to win the battle.

Which form? The row tells you.
