Finger Numbers

Count with your fingers! The voice says “Show me three fingers!” or “How many apples?” – hold up your fingers and the camera counts them.

Works on a phone, a tablet or a computer with a webcam. The camera picture stays on your device – nothing is sent anywhere.

How to play

  1. Choose a level and let the browser use the camera.
  2. Hold your hands up in front of the camera, palms to the screen.
  3. Listen: Show me four fingers! or count the pictures: How many ducks?
  4. Hold up the right number of fingers. The camera says what it sees: I see 4 – Yes! Four!
  5. Wrong number? The voice helps: That’s three. Try again!

In class: say a number and the whole class shows it. One student stands at the camera – the board shows if they are right.

Say it aloud: ask children to say the number while they show it – Five! Five apples!

Maths is for older kids: What is seven minus two? – answer with your fingers.
