Halloween Vocabulary – Level 2
5 vocabulary tasks on 35 Halloween words – the word list with pictures and recordings, a choose-the-word game, a memory game, a word search, and a listen-and-spell task.
Tasks
Ten new words on top of Level 1
broom, cauldron, vampire, mummy, skeleton, scarecrow, owl, haunted house, Frankenstein, trick-or-treat bag. The twenty-five words from Level 1 stay in the set, so it revises as it teaches – thirty-five words in all, each with a picture and a recording.
Five tasks: the word list, a choose-the-word game, a memory game of matching pairs, a word search with the whole list hidden in the grid, and a spelling task where the word is only spoken and has to be typed.
The spelling task is the hard one. The other four let a student recognise a word from a picture; there the sound is all there is, and the au in cauldron or the double letters in Frankenstein have to be worked out.
