My Hobby – English Essay
Hobby is something that a person enjoys doing in their free time. Everyone is different, and that’s why people choose different hobbies. As the saying goes, “Tastes differ”.
Usually, people choose hobbies based on their interests. Some enjoy collecting various things like coins, postcards, toys, art objects, or stamps. For example, my friend Vika loves collecting coins—it’s her favorite activity.
As for me, I really enjoy reading. I like storybooks, detective novels, history books, and anything else I find interesting. My passion for reading began in childhood—my grandmother used to read fairy tales to me, and later my parents encouraged the habit by buying books. They told me that reading is one of the most valuable habits a person can have.
Now I read a wide range of materials and learn many new things—about history, science, human achievements, and space. My room is full of books, and I even dream of becoming a writer someday.
My younger brother, on the other hand, is not planning to turn his hobby into a career. He enjoys playing computer games in his free time just to relax. Although we have different interests, I respect his choice. Still, I believe it’s wonderful when your hobby becomes your profession.
